BRASSINTER electrical contacts combine refractory materials ( Tungsten – fusion point : 3400 ºC , Tungsten Carbide – fusion Point : 2900 ºC , Molybdenum – fusion point : 2610 ºC ) with high electrical and thermal conductivity metals , silver and copper , resulting in the following materials :
Characteristics
These composites are a combination of tungsten or tungsten carbide and copper produced by powder metallurgy .
They are capable of carrying high current with good arc resistance , highly resistant to wear and provide good electrical and thermal conductivity .
Applications
They are used in electrical contacts for high voltage lines , power switches , circuit breakers and other electrical equipment for power transmission and distribution .
