In the 1940, a group of engineers of the Institute of Technological Research of the University of São Paulo (IPT- USP) carried out research on Powder Metallurgy, seeking to master this technique, which at that time was practically unknown in Brazil.
After the Second World War, new business opportunities emerged in Brazil, leading up to the great industrial development of the subsequent years, in 1954 BRASSINTER S.A. Indústria e Comércio was founded, whose technical team formed the beginnings of that group of researchers of the IPT.
BRASSINTER was one of the first companies to be set up in Santo Amaro, at that time a desolate region, but which was to become the largest industrial park in the municipal district of São Paulo and one of the largest in Brazil. |
Development
From its beginnings, Brazilian industrial park gradually became a permanent local and reliable source of synterized products. Thus, it completed an important stage in the process of replacing imports, the basis of the industrial development which began at the end of the 1950s.

The continuing improvement in quality and the increase in the levels of sophistication of the national products gradually overcame the reluctance and won the trust of the Brazilian market, which up until then had been used to imported products.
